The problem with the current state of legal education in India is the fact that it is not only restricted to students opting to study a certain set of subjects (that too at the college level), but also that legal awareness concepts at the school level are also taught using pedagogy that is extremely theoretical and dare we say, outdated; we believe that solely teaching the definitions of law and order, the date on which we mark the legal literacy day, and related concepts is of no long-term use. Sermonising children through lectures that speak at them, and not to them, are expectedly ineffective.
What sets Blinders Off apart is the fact that we use a hands-on approach which encourages practical application
We focus on doing and making the kids do! Interactions, activities, incentives (no rote learning whatsoever!)
Some ideas could include opening a legal literacy club or a legal literacy camp, and much more!
After all, knowledge not applied is knowledge wasted…
